Peter Hodge is best known for his evocative views of the towns, villages and landscapes of the English countryside and, in particular, the Cotswolds and Vale of Evesham.

He was born in the Cotswold village of Snowshill in 1949, and studied at Gloucester College of Art and Design, followed by several years training as a picture restorer before settling to a career painting and designing fine porcelain. During this period Peter also pursued an interest in music as a singer-songwriter as part of the group Dulcimer, at the same time developing and refining his distinctively detailed water colour technique. By 1985 Demand for his work was such that he decided to concentrate on painting full time.

Renowned for his water colour paintings he continues to work in other areas of art, and his paintings and designs have been widely reproduced as greeting cards and limited edition prints, whilst his originals hang in collections throughout the world.

He currently exhibits at the John Noott Galleries in Broadway, Worcestershire and also gives tutorials at several art workshops in the Worcestershire area. Peter also undertakes painting commissions.
